Angus "The Squatch" Fundraiser
Hi all, I wanted to introduce you to a new, innovative product and a unique and exciting fundraising opportunity.
My name is Colin Angus. My wife, Susanne, and I live just outside of Winnipeg and have 3 boys who grew up playing minor sports in our community.
Sports were an important element of our kids growing up and all three boys continued playing Lacrosse at the Junior level and 2 of them are currently playing college lacrosse in Alabama.
We have done our share of fundraising and decided it was time for something new, so we came up with a NEW product and unique fundraising model.
The product is called 'The Squatch'. It is called a Squatch because the little button on top of a baseball style cap is called a squatcho/squatchee.

The unique design feature of the Squatch is the plate area where we place the Team Logo, allowing athletes to celebrate their team and display their hats.
We just came back from the Founders Cup - Junior B National Lacrosse Championships in Alberta, and received lots of positive feedback on the Squatch and our fundraising model. Those team Squatches will be for sale on our Website until the end of 2025. Shop - The Squatch Store
The players loved the idea of displaying their hats and having their Team Logo on the SQUATCH.
Parents loved that hats would be cared for and that kids were excited to sell the product.
Lots of these Canadian box lacrosse players play in the US and were excited to hang their hats in their dorm rooms.

The fundraising model works as follows:
Cost for Squatches:
- $5 each (wholesale)
- Come in a box of 30 ($150 each)
- Price includes: Taxes, logo placement, delivery
- 20 box team minimum order
Earnings:
- PLAYERS:
- sell Squatches at $10 each earning $5/Squatch
- sell a box to a Sponsor for $300 (earning $150/box)
- TEAMS
- can sell at games/events earning $5/Squatch
- COMMUNITY CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS:
- Earn a 5% royalty on all wholesale orders (from The Squatch Store)
- Earn a 10% royalty on all retail orders on THESQUATCHSTORE.COM
- Team Squatches will remain on the Website for sale for the season
- BUSINESS SPONSORS
- Receive advertisement placement (LOGO) on THESQUATCHSTORE.COM
- Receive 1 free Squatch with company logo
- Receive display box with 30 Squatches for display at their business.
- Most teams can provide an 'advertising sponsorship' letter which businesses use as a tax deduction
The recommendation is each player is responsible for selling one box, and the team sells a few boxes. One of the benefits to this fundraising model is that those who wish to sell more boxes can earn more money while those who only want to sell their required 1 box can do so. We are also recommending adding the year to the Squatch so the players have a memory of that specific team/season.
Having been through the dozens of teams and fundraising efforts, we tried to come up with:
- a new product that kids would be excited about having and selling (as opposed to parents who traditionally end up doing all the work/selling)
- a model that benefits:
- Individual players who want to sell more to earn more
- Teams, by allowing teams to earn Team funds (similar to 50:50 sales)
- Community clubs/organizations who are run by volunteers as well, and are sometimes challenged for fundraising opportunities.
- Businesses by offering more than a traditional advertising placement
We believe we have done a pretty good job.

- We will confirm the Logo, Print, and deliver the Squatches to the Team Contact.
