u9 Program Information

River East Minor Hockey Association (REMHA) is our district.  All hockey registrations for hockey are taken at REMHA.ca.  Please visit their website for full registration details.

Once registration has closed East St Paul holds player assessments to help form our teams for this age group.  This assessment is different than the developmental program Rustbusters hosted by REMHA.

Once assessments are completed teams are formed in a draft by Head Coaches.  The formation of teams usually takes place the last week of September as practices start the week of October 1st.  Games start November 1st.

U9 Hockey Program (formerly House League)

This program is for players aged 7 and 8 (based on birth year).  All East St Paul registered players will practice on Wednesdays.  Teams rotate between 2 ice times 5:00 pm and 6:15 pm on Wednesdays once teams are formed.  All practices are at the East St Paul Arena.  Games can either be at the East St Paul Arena or Gateway Arena.

Practices are shared with another team in the same age group.  Practice ice is an additional cost.  The practice fees will be collected by the team manager once your teams practices have been allocated.  There are 2 payments that are required - 1st half practice ice is October 1st until Christmas break.  Second have practice ice resumes first week of January and ends mid March when the annual Tournament of Aces begins.

The ESPCC provides game jerseys, socks and goalie equipment for the u9 age group. Game jerseys are not to be worn for practices.   Please see jersey and equipment policy for full details.

U9A1 Hockey Program  is a program run through REMHA.  Please see their website for details.

Tournament of Aces

This is the annual East St Paul hockey tournament that is hosted by the u7 and u9 age group.  All East St Paul teams must enter.  Parent volunteering is a must, each player must have an adult volunteer 4 hours at the tournament.  There is no option to opt out of this tournament volunteering.  Everyone is expected to volunteer.

If you are interested in being a part of the committee that has made this tournament a success for over 30 years please contact Manager@espcc.ca.
