WMBA Fall/ Winter Programs
Jr. NBA League
Are you ready to take your basketball skills to the next level? Join us for an unforgettable experience with the Jr. NBA League in partnership with NBA Canada!
About the Program:
- Designed for boys and girls 14U and 12-13U.
- Supplementary gameplay and training for club players and community league players looking to take the next level.
- Offers a competitive yet inclusive environment at an affordable cost.
- Incorporates all the traditions of our community leagues including fair and equal play requirements and number of games and practices.
- Opportunity to represent NBA & WNBA teams
- League games will be on Friday, Saturday or Sunday (non-conflict with WMBA Community Games according to age group)
- Tryouts for the new league will commence on September 5th, 2024 and those not chosen will be invited to join our community league

Community League

The WMBA Community League is a city-wide league where teams compete against other teams from different areas in the city. Teams are formed based on Community Centre catchment areas.
Current Programs:
Spring (April - June): WMBA Spring Community League (ages 7-17) - Registration Closed.
Fall/Winter (October-March): WMBA Fall/Winter Community League (ages 7-17) - 2024-25 Registration will open August 19th 2024-September 15th, 2024

WMBA 2023-24 Fall/Winter Community League (Age 7-17) (REGISTRATION OPENS August 19th, 2024)
The WMBA Community Centre League is a city-wide league where teams compete against other teams from different areas in the city. Players register online for their catchment community centre and teams are formed based on those Community Centre catchment areas. The WMBA adheres to a fair play and zero tolerance model to ensure young athletes are competing in a Fun and Safe environment. Age 7-8 (Co-ed): Winnipeg Minor Basketball
WMBA city-wide program with 1 game/week (Saturdays), plus practice
3v3 Cross Court Games
Age 9-12, plus 13 Boys: Winnipeg Minor Basketball
WMBA city-wide program with 1 game/week (Saturdays), plus practice
9-10 Boys and 9-10 Girls - 4v4 Cross Court Games
11, 12 Boys, 11/12 Girls & 13 Boys - 5v5 Full Court Games
Age 14-17, plus 13 Girls: Winnipeg Minor Basketball
WMBA city-wide program with 1 game/week (Sundays), plus practice
5v5 Full Court Games
Fees:
Total League fees are made up of the WMBA Membership Fee ($285) + the individual Community Club fees. Community Club fees will vary from district to district.
2024-25 Fall/Winter Season Important Dates:
Registration Opens: August 19th, 2024
Registration Closes: September 15th, 2024
Team building and league administration: September 16th - October 4th, 2024
Practices begin: Practices should start in early to mid-October when permits become available.
First league games: October 19th-20th, 2024
Holiday Break: December 16th, 2024 - January 10th, 2025 **NO Games**
Games resume: January 11th-12th, 2025
Last Regular Season Games: February 15th-16th, 2025
Playoffs (Ages 11+): Feb 22nd-23rd, 2025
Championship: March 1st-2nd, 2025
JNYB Development

10-week introductory program with 1 session/week
